Uma Fazenda que Recebe
Fazenda dos Cordeiros is located in Imbaú, Silva Jardim, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It has 500 ha of preserved, protected areas and agricultural production. Initially composed of the fragmentation of several small rural properties, it brought a unique use of the land for rural activities, leisure, education and conservation.
The RPPNs, Cachoeirinha and Rabicho da Serra, conservation units provided for by the SNUC, together with the permanent preservation areas, transformed Fazenda dos Cordeiros into an important habitat for the diversity of native fauna and flora of the Atlantic Forest.
The Golden Lion Tamarin, endemic to the region, is our greatest treasure!
Our native forests are home to two families of the species and our partnership with the Golden Lion Tamarin Association contributes to their preservation.
Preserved habitat for other animals, such as: maned sloth, otter, cougar, bamboo rat, hedgehog, black and white hummingbird, woodpecker, owl, tanager and tanager, among others. Also noteworthy is a wide variety of amphibians, reptiles and insects.
Fazenda dos Cordeiros, located in Imbaú, Silva Jardim, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is a true ecological refuge that covers 500 hectares of preserved, protected areas and designated for ecological production. Originated by the integration of several smaller rural properties, the farm stands out as a model of environmental conservation.
Among the preservation initiatives, the Cachoeirinha and Rabicho da Serra Private Natural Heritage Reserves (RPPNs) stand out, both of which are part of the National System of Conservation Units (SNUC). These areas, together with the permanent preservation zones, have transformed Fazenda dos Cordeiros into a vital habitat for the diversity of native fauna and flora of the Atlantic Forest.
The Golden Lion Tamarin, a species endemic to the region, is considered the farm’s treasure. We believe in the ongoing commitment to ensuring the survival of this species, and our partnership with the Golden Lion Tamarin Association contributes significantly to this purpose. In our native forests, we shelter two families of this endangered species.
In addition to the Golden Lion Tamarin, Fazenda dos Cordeiros serves as a preserved habitat for a wide variety of animals, including the maned sloth, the otter, the cougar, the bamboo rat, the hedgehog, the black-and-white hummingbird, the woodpecker, the owl, the tanager and the tanager, among others. Committed to sustainable agricultural practices, we work organically and responsibly. At Fazenda dos Cordeiros, we produce a variety of organic foods, such as coffee, cassava, corn, beans, pupunha palm and açaí, guava, cupuaçu, grumixama and coconut. In addition, we maintain a nursery with around 120 species of seedlings of native trees from the Atlantic Forest, we cultivate orchids and epiphytes, and we raise small animals such as chickens, turkeys, geese, rabbits and guinea pigs.
We have the right infrastructure to welcome families, groups of visitors and students, providing educational activities and rural tourism. We believe that interacting with nature can be educationally enriching, and therefore we invite everyone to share the beauty and diversity of Fazenda dos Cordeiros with their family and friends.
